Elyssa Padillo is an illustrator based in Toronto, Canada. There isn’t a wole lot of information about this amazing illustrator that I could find, but she is represented by Lemonade Illustration Agency who have bases in London, Sydney, New York and Yorkshire. The main factor that I know is that her work is beautiful and totally my style!

Her work is vibrant with colour (if it wasn’t, it probably wouldn’t be shown on this blog lol) without boundaries, she uses quirky lines of colour to bring detail forward. Plus, her use of colour isn't exactly realistic which I also love.

In some areas of her work, they lack shapes, but they have an outline of a shape that seems to be missing. This technique makes it seem that nothing needs to be perfect here. It is free! Form this, I notice that the scale and proportion is also not realistic, but this is what makes her design’s so much fun.

I love that in her illustrations, there is always something new to look at and be impressed by, since they are usually full to the brim of subject matter and line.

Her designs are so quirky and thoroughly enjoyable, especially the faces of the figures that she draws. With circles as cheeks and long strong eyelashes, the people are so cute! They are very minimal and doodle-like too.

Emily :)
