Eva Malley is an Illustrator based in Brighton who is currently studying illustration at Brighton University in her final year. I came across this illustrator through TikTok during the very first lockdown back in March 2020, where she was promoting her small business which started in 2018 but really took off through TikTok and especially in the pandemic. I started following her on Instagram and she has achieved so much in the past year it’s been crazy as I have been following her during this time. She has begun to sell her work as prints, earrings, stickers, bags, t shirts, washi tape and so much more!

Recently she got the chance to design the front window in a Vans shop for Christmas which really inspired me and I began to tell myself that this was one of my goals in life. She got her name out there into the public by designing this window design, plus it was on a large scale which is a change for her as her designs are smaller usually.

I love her work because it all started in black and white, which really isn’t me… but I loved the immense pattern she creates and the subject matter of females and it is almost like a street style. Then she moved onto adding colour which I think has really flourished beautifully.

Her work starts out as a hand drawn piece and then she digitalises it and adds colour to each piece, which you can see on her YouTube channel, Instagram and Tiktok. She prints her own labels and other little pieces too which is so much more personal.

As a person, Eva seems like such a genuinely lovely person, and this shows through her designs. Her designs are positive and relatable. They are cool and quirky, full of character. She clearly loves what she’s up to because the vibrant passion emits from her stunning design.
She never fails to produce gorgeous work and I think she’s fab!!!
