Jaiqi Wang is a Chinese illustrator and animator who is based in Los Angles. She has worked with Pepsi, Facebook, Apple and many more big named brands, which I don’t find very shocking since her work is beautiful! Her vibrant designs can be found on walls in Los Angles to puzzles, which shows that her work can be so versatile and easily adapted to different target audiences which I find really inspiring, since she has the exact same style in each piece yet she can seem to cater for everyone.

I found her work on Creative Boom and was firstly drawn to the work due to the eye popping colour she uses and beautiful thin black outlines to separate subject matter. I particularly enjoy the designs which have the gradient technique somewhere within them, which adds a touch of difference to her flat, block colour designs.

The way in which some designs almost seem neon, and I think they would if a huge amount of black were in her designs to pop the colour out of the screen, which I find so uplifting. I find that some of her designs hold a majority of detail, yet some less than others, which shows her contrast in different techniques.

Every scene that she illustrates feels so real, even though the people in the work does not have any facial features. I think the reason for why it seems so real is because they seem too laid back and enjoyable and perhaps I could see myself in some because I would like to think that I am enjoyable and quite chilled too.

Some of her work is also animated, which definitely tells a deeper story more than some of her still illustrations and obviously creates more life within them.

I really think you should go check her portfolio of work as it is jam packed with effortlessly stunning work… https://www.jiaqiwang.org
