Kitty O'Rourke

Kitty O’Rourke is an illustrator based in Manchester who is represented by the bright agency, London. Her work involves different shapes which create figures who wear bright colours and striking patterns.

I particularly like the designs which have more detail in them, over the flat block-coloured designs that she creates. The reason for this is because there is more to look at and seems to tell more of a story. Plus, the more detail in her work means more colour! Which is fab!

The figures within her illustrations are bulky women with long, thick limbs and small heads who wear funky clothing and accessories. These figures all look so content in their own little worlds, which is lovely and may even represent how the illustrator is as a person, which is extremely pleasant. Some of the settings that these females are in include, the beach and a garden which I find very natural and calming.

I can see that she uses some textures and gradients in her gorgeous illustrations too, which adds to the level of detail in designs too.

All in all I think he work is so warming, friendly and positive. It is something to brighten your day, which is lovely!
