Your Art Won’t Be Everyone’s Vibe — And That’s Okay

One of the hardest things to accept as an artist is that not everyone will like your work.

You can spend hours creating something you absolutely love, put it out into the world… and someone might look at it and think, “Not for me.”

And that's okay.

Because art is personal. We all have different tastes, colours we love, styles we connect with and things we want in our homes.

One person's “not my thing” is someone else's “OMG, I LOVE THIS!”

Especially at art markets, you'll quickly realise that people will walk past your work.

Some will stop and look. Some will buy something. Some won't.

Try not to take it personally. Someone not buying your artwork doesn't mean it's bad, and it certainly doesn't mean you're not talented. It just wasn't their vibe.

And actually, that's a good thing.

If you try to create art that everyone will like, you can easily lose what makes your work yours.

So embrace your style. Use the colours you love. Be bold, playful, quirky or a little bit weird!

You don't need everyone to like your art.

You just need to find your people.
